This week James Mackenzie Thorpe dragged a few of us unsuspecting cast members of his forthcoming Seagull production to an extremely smelly location to shoot a viral video to promote the play. We were there for a couple of hours very early Sunday morning and the smell of the nearby sewage did not diminish, us actors live such a glamorous life!! Of course being actors, anything involving Chekhov meant we would have probably waded in there if asked 😉 Somehow a dozen plus swans and geese lived there fine, maybe they have learned to love the smell..
I will post the viral video teaser when it is ready, we did the ADR (Additional Dialogue Replacement) this week so it should be ready soon). Amazing mix of wildlife, communist looking blocks and a lake so great location skills.
It was lovely to meet a few of the other cast members ahead of rehearsals plus this is the first time I have done a viral teaser video for a play that is not my own 😉 So good to know Green Girl Productions are so into marketing and social media ;-))
An excess of swans and spot the cast members!!
I have always wanted to play the role of Arkadina, she is dramatic, passionate, brutally honest and Chekhov’s play is so amazingly written that I had bruises on my arms after just the audition itself, your brain turns to fire, your blood boils and wonderfully there is no English restraint on emotions. It is the great advantage of getting older, the characters are often far more interesting to play!
The show is at Barons Court Theatre between Sept 2nd and 8th.
