Sadly I have no Blue Peter skills.. I can learn most instruments, write and perform.. but anything involving drawing, glue, nails, sharp sculpting knives.. and paints of any kind, hand eye coordination… sadly I am a lost cause on this!!

1^Recycled Art Competition ‘SHAPE THE FUTURE: Living and Design the City’
Are you working with worn fabrics, recycling materials and making great and innovative artworks, documenting an activity of artistic reuse of waste, experimenting new artistic design in a creative way? We want you!
SHAPE THE FUTURE is a Recycled Art Competition created by You Are Home Itinerant Ecovillage.
We look for artists and experimenters to create new experiences; we seek innovators to develop new aesthetic layers and concepts by using recycled material involving all the aspects of sustainability, eco-productions and self-resiliency.
SHAPE THE FUTURE ‘Living and Design the City’ competition will aim to develop an art platform of artists who use recycled material to express their visions. From this effort a core group of artists with common vision and goals will emerge.
The deadline is 15 April 2013.
SHAPE THE FUTURE Award will be a side-event of the running “ISOCULTURE” project (6 March – 26 May 2013). ISOCULTURE is the major gallery project for 2013 and it will redesigns the city as a closed system where humans are entirely self-sustaining.

FACK! West London Art Prize, FACK! Forum for Visual Artists in Chelsea and Kensington

FACK! is pleased to present the first West London Art Prize. The Prize offers a 6 week studio residency in a purpose built artist’s studio at the head office for Winsor & Newton, Liquitex and Conté à Paris, near Latimer Road, in Jan & Feb 2014, an exhibition at the end of the residency with a catalogue, £250 worth of artists’ materials and £1000 for the commission of new work.
A shortlist of 10 artists will be shown at The Griffin Gallery in The Studio Building in June 2013. One prize-winner will be selected from that group by the panel.
The intention of The FACK West London Art Prize is to showcase artistic talent in the West London area. The Prize will be open to artists who live, work or belong to an Art Organization in a ‘W’ borough. Eg SW10/ W4/ NW5 etc.
All media accepted. The prize is being partially sponsored by Winsor & Newton, Liquitex and Conté à Paris, so the accepted artworks must reference or contain colour.

15th May. Announcement of shortlist. Applicants will be notified after this date.

The Woolwich Grand Theatre seeks submissions for short plays from 10 to 30 minutes long. We are staging a short play festival over a weekend, 31st May – 1st June. We seek new writers looking to stage their own work of original material. All genres of play are accepted. The prize for the winning entry is 150 pounds.
